If you specify for how long your video records have to be stored (1 day= 24 hours of recording) the tool will give you required HDD storage space.

I am in the process of installing cameras to remotely monitor a Solar Energy System installation and needed to subscribe to a DSL link to connect to the internet. I wanted to subscribe to a service that would provide adequate uplink bandwidth for the cameras plus other equipment and not go overboard. Calls to networking companies that sell cameras were of no help whatsoever. I found this tool via Google and it helped me solve my problem.

This is a very nice and handy tool for the new cctv world.
In the beginning I was a little confused by the second colomn in the calculator where I interprete automatically "MJPG Low" as low resolution or low quality when it is "LOW COMPRESSION" and this gived me some difficult to understand results.

Would be nice if a few more resolution options were available. 1/4 CIF, CIF 2CIF, 4CIF for example. With the Mega Pixel cameras coming out these resolution should be included also. This is a good starting point though.
