I like the style of the statements. I have to change a few things in my profile to get the address to display the way it should show in France (we put the zip code before the town and things like that), but that’s easy to do. My only real problem is with the word count itself and not knowing where to enter the VAT settings.
I tested a Word doc on Word, QuickCount, AnyCount and a few others (I’m shopping around…): Word and AnyCount gave me 541 words, whereas QuickCount and FineCount say there are 547 words. This is a straight file without any footnotes, images, textboxes or diagrams. Most of my customers know the statistics function in Word, so it would seem strange to them if I give them a different word count, unless there were footnotes.
I tried it out on a pdf file too. When I save the file as text and copy it into Word, I get 3438 words, QuickCount says there are 3556 words, Word Count has 3202 words and AnyCount gives 3340. Hmm. Problemo!
I couldn’t find anywhere to edit my tax options (in France we have to add 19.6% VAT when we invoice French customers and EU non VAT-registered customers).
My conclusion: Although I like the style of the 'statements' and find the program easy to use, I don't think I'll keep it. I don't understand why the word count is so much higher than in other programs and it's not very practical if I have to add VAT manually. I'd say it's a good program for US users, because it's geared to their needs.
