Windows Vista

My HP Vists doesn't have the set up options as listed on your troubleshooting program -- I am not a tecnition and the solutions are not easy for me to understand as my sound system aparently doesn't have the options listed either.

The program sounds like it would be fun, but it is completely useless to me as is..

I would not recommend it as it now is...

A nice application with a pleasing interface and plenty of options. Looks like the paid version has even more options available for someone who might be using the software frequently.

This system is first-class, enabling me to record radio stations from the Internet. I particularly like that it automatically saves the recording to my desired location.

Excellent, so easy to use, excellent for those bits of music that you have not heard for ages that you just suddenly find. Free version excellent, so bought version has to be tremendous.

I was disappointed because the schedule function was not available in the trial version because that was exactly what I was looking for and wanted to try.

I use this program to record sounds from Internet, and program helps to keep sounds which I can not record on the other method.

Excellent software! This program is good for recording sound from web sites and I use program to record it.

The main thing I must say about this program, and beleive it or not it's completely true, is that it somehow produces mp3 without distortion and noise. I haven't ever found out any program which produces so clean mp3. Other than that you can tune various attributes too.

I found the free Hi-Q Recorder very simple to use. The main drawback is that it is limited to 96Kbps recording speed. I would have preferred it to be 128Kbps for the freeware & then all above & other options for the paid version.
However, it works well enough.
I have used it to play a Yoga DVD on my PC & record the soundtrack as an mp3 to listen to on my Zen player to do my Yoga routine.
I have also helped my Uncle install the freeware on his PC, and connect an old record player to his PC so that he can record some old LPs & 45s as mp3s and add them to his Windows Media Player library. He can now listen to his old favourites once more.

As a blind user of windows XP, I have learned to appreciate everything that technology has to offer. There are many options available to blind and or visually impaired people such as screen readers, screen magnification programs, and so on. All of these make computers and other technology accessible to the blind community who use them just as often as sighted people do. What is not available to us in great quantities are sound recording/editing programs available for download. This may or may not be of interest, but I figured I would write it in the hopes that this product may be made accessible to blind/visually impaired users. The problem seems to be that graphical design was used in order to tell the user exactly how to use the recorder. Screen reading software such as Jaws For Windows does not recognize graphical interfaces. A few things that I can recommend for future upgrades which would make the recorder blind user friendly is to add a menu bar which most programs have that present the users with all of the options available. Another idea would be to make shortcut keys so as to allow a blind user to press either a key or key combination to achieve a task. If you wish to obtain other ideas, I believe a great place to start would be to visit freedomscientific.com. I found that after I had installed your program I was unable to use it because of the graphical interface. This can be adjusted, and I hope that you take interest in this message as you may benefet many blind and visually impaired users who need adaptive and assistive technology.

This is a great program, I enjoy using it, and I have told others about it. In the very near future, I will be purchansing this program.

Needed a program to record simple MP3's from laptop microphone. Hi-Q installed without trouble. Online help very quickly walked through a getting started screen to configure for the requirement. Was using the program without trouble in < 1 minute. On start get a dialog that a professional version is available (advertising) but thats reasonable and I might act on it - excellent software.

Sorry to say that after launching Free-HQ my system froze and I had to hard re-boot several times. I finally un-installed youe software and my system worked fine.

Very good sofware, and easy to use. Many options are good and practice.

just needs more constante bitrate-quality in free version... else is very good.

the free hi-q recorder is beyond excellence. i am a construction worker and in the qa/qc field. in my type of work, i use my laptop combined with the hi-q 1.9recorder as a tool to monitor conversations and other investigative tasks. i do not realy rquire the 2.2 upgrade model as the 1.9 covers all my requirements.

This program is straight forward and easy to use. I was able to record streaming audio in a mattter of minites. The worst thing I can say is that the text is small and a little hard to read at times.

Does what it says, and it's free. A great entry level recorder

when i install this program on my pc, it alert for virus. what's wrong with this file setup...

p.s: i use kaspersky anti-virus

In order to combat quality issues, I had to turn down both the record volume and the system volume. Other than that, the software works great and is easy to use. I would recomend it to any one who asks, and am considering buying the full version.

This is a nice piece of software, however, I would not recommend it for anyone who doesnt know much about their computer.

I use this program to record the radio station I listen to at home & then listen to it while away from home as an over the road truck driver. Terrific program!

I downloaded this after I was having a problem with Vista's MP3 recorder, and it was much better. It let me record for the amount of time I needed, I used 3 minutes and was easy to work with. I have been having problems with it freezing up, but I'm not sure if it is just my computer or if it is the program. Either way, I would reccomend this.

I am a court reporter in a continuing education class. I work on speed progression within my profession. This recorder is great. I did have someone recommend this to me however. She assisted me in working it together with Windows Media Player. I really did not understand all of that from your instructions. I needed assistance in getting it to do what I needed it to do.

Dear Free Hi-q recorder team,
I have enjoyed the use of Free Hi-q recorder on my Packard-Bell for collecting radio talk-broadcast (I have never tried it for music).
But every tenth recording or so, the program provokes a crashdown of Windows XP after a few minutes. On demand, I have sent reports to Microsoft.
Now, I have a new HP portable computer. On this one, Free Hi-q recorder is not totally visible in the desktop. Mainly, the little shutdown cross in the righthand upper corner. May be that occures because I have increased a little the size of the letters and icons on my desktop on account of my decreasing vision.

Easy to use and to set-up.

Needed to record the sound of streaming media and found no easy way of doing it.

I have used the recorder to record from microphone an it worked idealy. The interface was intuitive, I never had to look at the help.

I was verry pleasd and suprized about the quality of the product.
