I needed to inventory all my files on my hard drive in order to gain a better understanding of the asset value and knowledge base that was currently in our systems.
We have a manifold of file types and hte DDFile Catcher software was the ideal application for capturing the file names, type, dates and size.
The process took less than 5 minutes to download, apply and then capture the files to an external excel spread sheet. With out this application, this project would have easily taken me 3 or 4 full days was completed. As it was I reduced this time to less than 3 hours once the information was secured using the DD File Catcher.

I could not get it to work with the Excel 97 that I run.
The interface between DDFileCatcher and Excel is written in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Big changes were made to Excel VBA with the introduction of Excel 2000. It could be that some of the changes mean that the interface code will not run on your copy of Excel 97. There is always a balance to strike between supporting "legacy" software and using the features offered by new improved versions.
