So much as, it permits you to configure every parameter of the partition table. I found the software very intuitive and easy to use,and it appeared to be able to fix my problem(an unbootable partition),however not being able to save the result without purchasing,I was not able to prove it.
I purchased Partition Table Doctor, because I accidentally cleared all disk information from my hard drive while trying to set up a Raid 1 pair on my ABIT board with nVidia Raid Controller, using my existing disk.
I ran another program first and backed up all the data I could in case I had to reinstall everything, but it couldn't get all the data. I REALLY did not want to reinstall everything.
When running Partition Table Doctor, it was easy to do, very clear to understand what it was doing, and restored my disk exactly the way it was, made it bootable again, and it runs perfectly! The best part of all is, it did it in under 5 minutes! (The backup program took 2-1/2 hours!)
This is a quality program and I would recommend it to anyone who has accidentally erased the Master Boot Record or Partition Table from their hard drive (and not completely erased it) It is a great product!
I tested the program a bit and it actually did a few things I was surprised to find. I had formatted disk after PTD was run on it. Did the same thing about 5 or 6 times. It kept finding the correct partition information. However, when it found an issue, it sent me to use another program to recover my data. For the price of this product, it should be able to do the recover for you. Yet the Data Recovery Wizard worked well too.
Definitely a helpful tool.
PTDD wanted to write a Fat 32 table on my HDD that was formatted NTFS.
I had a hard drive which had lost its partition table. When using the demo of your product I could browse and see the folders that should be there. On this basis I felt that your product was the right one and i would be able to restore my partition table and be able to easily access the data on the hard drive.
However after buying the product and repairing the table I am still unable to access my hard drive I feel that your product was not only a waste of my money but also falsly advertised its abilities. In my opinion your product seems to do nothing. I will never purchase a product from you again.
A very nice product, however it did not help in my case as my partition table had been damaged by some disk encryption software that was only supposed to effect Windows.
It would be nice if there was a "find partition" feature as in Norton Utilities as in my case I know that the data was in tact.
THIS PROGRAM SAVED MY COMPUTER FROM PURE DESTRUCTION!!!! IT ALSO HELPED ME BOOT OFF BOTH MY HARD DRIVES!!!!
I was looking for a program that would help me test my formatting code that I wrote to format Flash Media on USB MSC devices. This program did not display the USB MSC device, so it did not serve my purpose at all.
