I had the same experience as Tim above ... after 91 hours (!!!) of operation the progress bar was at about 30% and I started to doubt that it would ever finish. Needless to say that when you are desperate to get your data back you can't wait 12 days for a program to complete a scan. I used the evaluation version, maybe the full version would have worked, but the evaluation version should also perform the scan. I sent an e-mail to the company and all they had to say was "let it complete the scan" ... well...
We downloaded the Kernel Tape Data Recovery program a couple of days ago. I have it installed on my PC with my SCSI tape drive. I put in a tape I want recovered. I started this at 7:27am Wednesday and by the time I went home later that afternoon it had finished scanning the tape, as all tape activity stopped and it was showing a slow but increasing count on the Progress counter. The status bar below that sits at about 1/5 or so. It has been more than 24 hours since it started and the Progress counter is still counting but the status bar below is still at 1/5 done. The tape contains about 35GB of data. Could you explain to me the progress steps. We have since bought the full program from you, but I do not want to stop this other tape scan as it is hopefully near completion.
Any help or insight on what I should be seeing or expect to see would be most helpful.
