Notation Player helps you find MIDI files on the Internet and converts them to printable music notation with amazing accuracy, exceeding that of even very expensive music software. For example, Notation Player automatically detects and displays grace notes, trills and tremolos that are used in a wide variety of music styles. It correctly notates paired eighth note swing rhythms used in jazz.
Sing along or practice your instrument while following the notes on the screen. Notation Player automatically turns the pages for you.

Notation Player has the best algorithm for midi2notation I have seen so far. It captures most of the tonal structure of complex pieces, rather than presenting a hodgepodge of arbitrary-looking accidentals. I tried it on a Hindemith organ sonata and some of my own pieces with good (not perfect) results. A fine demo of what can be done with midi as an interoperability tool. Runs nicely on Linux under Wine too. Pity NP doesn't export musicxml.

Version: 2.1I am an looking for something to help me when I am trying to catch guitar solos of songs that I am trying to learn. I need to isolate the guitar and slow it down without changing the pitch. It would be wonderful if I could print it and actually see the notes that the guitar is playing. The ideal software should be able to print in musical notation and tab. If you have software like this please tell me about it.
