WavePad is a sound editor program for Windows. This software lets you make and edit voice and other audio recordings. You can cut, copy and paste parts of recording and, if required, add effects like echo, amplification and noise reduction.

An excellent product, very easy to use and effective. Unfortunately my very limited and occasional use only will make it hard to justify the cost of purchase especially with the low currency exchange rate of the NZ dollar.

This editor is very capable and has some interesting features. I needed to eliminate audience clapping and add silence on a classical CD, so it served my purposes well. I can't discern the differences between what I downloaded ("free" version) and the "full"/pro version. For instance, the free version will write output files in formats that are only supported in the paid version (according to the web site). I would like to see a matrix of features versus software version. The same applies to the other integrated tools.

WavePad is very easy to use and the result was excellent.

Hello! I was beginning to use Wave Pad audio. Downloaded it with a trial of Sound Forge 9.0 and found that the trial version was way too short. Sound Forge gave me 30 days and it seemed that the wave pad was less than 10 days. Would have like to try out longer not enough time to make a decision.

Version: 4.02Yesterday I have downloaded WavePad Audio Editor and processed an audio file which I couldn't with any other software. It was a 16000 hz mono audio file. I needed to cut last two minutes of file and even with Wavelab or Cubase I couldn't do it. Thanks for your software which could solve the problem. And thanks for releasing it free too.

Version: 4.02As a no-serious user, I wanted a capability to manipulate lengths, change a file format and use a noise reduction. So far it did everything that I wanted. The interface was intuitive and a simple task was done quite easily. The help section was easy enough for me to follow for more complex tasks.
I tried a noise reduction for a recorded voice with lots of noise. It works but the result was not satisfactory. The program seems to do all the functions that it is supposed to do. Maybe it was impossible task to start with.
The other functions tested were amplification and normalization and they worked great. Overall, I find the software quite solid.

Version: 4.02It needs filters to get rid of excessive bass that seems to be prevalent on any files that are downloaded from the internet... The built-in volume filter could do with some tweaking as it is easy to distort sound with it... Now we need a similar free tool to handle videos!

Version: 4.02The program is great and useful, but the interface is not very easy to use... for instance, it's difficult to scroll the graph when I have a selection (the selection disappears!), and the shortcuts keys for the controls (play, stop, etc), aren't very intuitive. The [space] key for play/pause works very weird too...
I use the program for edit sounds (cut, mix, loops, etc.), and save them for use in flash animations... It's useful for me to open sounds in different formats like mp3, wav, aiff.
