Alwact Clock is an analog desktop clock featuring mp3 alarm, skins, transparency and zoom. It is possible to display the date and make the clock click-through. Using multi-touch touchpad, the mouse wheel or keyboard shortcuts, you can alternate between skins and set the zoom level. You can also make your own skins using any image edition software supporting PNG. 'Always On Top' (dis/en)able : An option has been added to the context menu. If you desire to have the Alwact Clock widget (partially) hidden by other windows, uncheck this option. An icon will be added to the system tray for fast access. On-screen distance measurement : When you want to measure the distance between 2 points on your screen, activate the Alwact Clock by clicking on it, hold the Shift key ('Shift' on most keyboards) and move your mouse between the two positions, a dialog will show when you release the control key, displaying the initial and final position, as well as the distance between them. Enhanced automatic repositioning : When a portion of the clock widget is out of the screen after a zoom or a screen resolution change (full screen video, full screen game), an icon will be added to the system tray. By double-clicking on it, the clock widget will be repositioned to fit into the screen. Skin folder access : Open the skin folder directly from the clock widget contextual menu.

Your clock product is a good one, but you should add a full white face with black numbers for all the hours.

I've been looking for a reminder / alarm / clock / whatever for "ages" now... I may be a bit picky, but I think the Alwact clock is one of the best. I especially like the skins, the clocks have a style I fall for. For a visualist like me, looks matter.

I actually came to change one of them, to get it even more suitable for my wallpaper, a moodflow.com picture (I'm a space freak).

The size of the clock is highly and quite freely adjustable, as is the opacity = transparency. With little work and time you can transform it to what you want. The maker provides you with the whole package, and you can build on as you want to.

The same goes for the sound. All mp3 files I tried worked well. The default one is probably the best I've heard in this market field, but you can change it - it takes a few clicks.

Technically, it installed well, it uninstalled well, and reinstalled well. I usually do my uninstalls with Revo, and this one wouldn't have left much behind it even with the standard uninstall.

The one thing that would perfect it all, would be a calendar link, giving the possibility for longer term alarms, perhaps even repeated ones.

But still, this is perhaps the analog clock I would recommend to others. There's something original about it, I simply like. With a calendar it would be all anyone needs. And if nothing else, it certainly tells you the time?

Nice little clock. Much easier to read than the tool bar time. Next a calender like this would be neat, but have a hide button for when playing a game or something. Or the dash to put it on the tool bar and still read it.

Thanks,

Tim

Quite Nice
Quite good. However, here are some suggestions: a) many of the skins are useless because they render the time unreadable b) pls consider incorporating an alarm or reminder function into this c) how about a skin which mimics a wall clock.

The clock is OK, but it doesnt stay always on top, like it should. Some programms like media centre HP, or video files player manage to cover it.

Great but not what I was looking for
I am still looking for a clock to help my daughter with larning to tell the time. Most or the clocks had no numbers at all somejust had the 1/4 numbers.

Nice and simple
Just what I was looking for -- simple and clean. I am trying the 1.3 beta and like the new features. One thing, though -- once click-through is set, how do you go back? I had to go to the registry to fix. Also, the date is a little small with the night blue skin.

Re-Review after previous negative review
I went to the publisher's site and downloaded a new "pre-release" version - not quite final, but closer than a beta I guess. Unlike the version I got from Q-Archive, this version actually works with Vista Service Pack 1.

Clock works just as claimed. My only reservation is the amount of resources it consumes. Its memory footprint is about 3 megabytes; I think that is a bit high for such a small program (164K hard drive footprint). What's more, in my processes list, it commands more CPU time than anything else except Firefox itself! It consumes more CPU time on a constant basis than even Explorer and Norton, and WAY more than any other background applet or craplet I have going.

Is it noticeably dragging my system down? Not that I can tell, so maybe I'm being picky. Yet, I can't help think that the same job can be done with perhaps sleeker code.

I will continue to use this until I find something better, and I WILL keep looking.

Apparently not supported in Vista SP1
After installation, attempts to initialize got me an error message saying that my version of Windows is "unsupported" by Alwact Clock. Since other Vista users apparently HAVE gotten this program to work, I am assuming that my problem is due to Vista's Service Pack 1 update. I have experienced this with some other programs, too - SP1 breaks some programs. Neat, huh?

Very good widget.
I really enjoy your widget, and it works just fine. I hope to see a higher resolution version in the future, since the zoom feature doesn't allow me to place your widget in quite the size it deserves. Juha.

Good Little Clock
Haven't had this for long, but I definitely like it compared to other desktop clocks I have found.
Being the the clocks use png's its nice to be able to make your own skin in photoshop.

I recommend.

Alwact clock is a very good product easy to install, easy to use. I would like to see it made easier to download new skins for the clock.

Very nice app.
Very customizable. I can make my own higher resolution pics and make my own clock face xd and it's free. That is the icing on the cake.
So I can make it look as I want, and analog is a very classy look. I do get some flack about it at the office, but whatever. I like it.

Reminders
I had hoped for a program that would provide 3 or 4 reminder flashes during the day to help remember when to take pills.

Can`t wait for the additional calendar option
Excellent little utility. Does one thing very well. I've settled on the Night Blue, zoomed up a bit and 100 opacity. Have it in the lower left of my screen so it's not in the way of much. It's nice to be able to still click buttons that are below the clock even though it's always on top.
