At first I used this program to open .iso file. When I first saw the look of this program, I loved it. It looks great and is also easy to use, which is very important to me. I am now using this program for extracting all kinds of files and for making password protected zip files. I would recommend this program to everyone who is looking for an easy-to-use program with many functions.
It's free and it supports way more formats than WinZip or WinRar. Hard to find anything bad to say about it.
As for the alz compression, it's not the best, but it is unlimited in size. It's popular in Korea where ALZip is from, but nowhere else.
Support for the program looks pretty good. They've got some active forums with answers from the developers. That's a bit rare for a free program to offer support.
There is a next archiving program that tries to copy the famous archiving utilities like Winzip or Winrar. Similar interface, similar features (but not the same). This program supports the own archiving format - alz. I compared the compression rate packing the MS Word file with Winrar in rar and zip (maximal rate) and with Alzip in alz format. 1 - rar, 2 - zip, 3 - alz.
If you have Winrar or Winzip you are up to date :) and I don't think you need to buy this program. But if don't have any archiving program you may consider this as your permanent files packer.
