After using the program for two days, my over all impression is that it represents good value for money and is useful for quick analysis work. of course, there is room for improvement, but at this price, without the imrovement, it would still be easy to liv with the program as it now stands. Below are my thoughts to-date:
1) The geometry input box need to be pre-filled with the geometry of the last member (Shape, size, material). This would allow the engineer to simply press OK instead of having to re-enter everything. This is of particular interest for frames that include a lot of similar members.
2) When in the geometry mode, it would be good for each member to change colour as the geometry is entered. This will help prevent members from being overlooked.
3) The program should show a sleep signal, or some other busy signal when the computation is underway. This can take a long time and the user can sometimes think that the program has ceased to function. This is especially true for the deflected shape calculations.
Sometimes pressing the click button again while the program is computing can cause the program to crash.
4) There should be an indication of the highest loaded members in a graphic display of the frame. This would help to quickly find the weakest spot.
