This came out to be a very handy tool. I have just tired once and it worked for what I wanted to do - extract attachments from outlook pst and store offline. This tool has a very good use for many people (including me of course).
However, it's ease of use is not that great. First of all I got an error message the moment I opened up ms outlook after installing this software. It was "error occured in deserializepailholder". After I clicked ok, a few more came but I didn't capture those. But the tool worked still. Now some feedback on making it a nice clean and tight product!
1. Soon after installation there was no feedback on the fact that the product has been installed and when you open ms outlook it will prompt. After insallation, I kept searching for installed shortcuts on desktop or start menu unncessarily!
2. It should not be available only in ms outlook, but as a stand alone executable on desktop or start menu to do the extracts
3. Now the important one - it should let one chose the type of attachemnts one can extract. Eg I only wanted to extact all. Ppt from my mailbox and not the entire thing. To get a couple of 100. Ppts from my mailbox I had to extract all 2500+ attachments.
4. In addition to the above point, it may also include other filters like attachments with a specific size range, name starting, from specific recipeients etc - this will add more teeth to the product. Right now it appears very basic and amaturish
5. While the attachments were being scanned, apart from the initial dialog box that said it may take some time, it went hung (seemed it was hung). I am a paitent user and so let the app be and went on to do other stuff until I got the prompt that the attachmens have been saved. Most of the users are not like that and are very click -happy. They would keep on clicking until something comes up and will not be patient enought to let the app work. There should be a message asking user to wait with some progress bar kinda thing.
That's it for now. Good product. I'll try a couple of times more and will surely buy as I have use for it!

I am running WIndows XP SP2 with all current patches, and Outlook 2003.
OK, I will be honest here. I am unable to get Attatchment Saver to work. When Outlook starts, I see the nag dialogue box informing me that this is an evaluation copy, yadda, yadda, 15 days. Each time the program prefrences selections are blank, requiring me to enter the data again. Then, I tell Attatchment Saver to run on a target directory that has email messages WITH attatchments and I am told that 0 attatchments are found. When processing mail, Outlook stores new messages in the target folder and nothing happens.
When does something happen? Is this related, somehow, to the eval nature of the installation?
Pending answers to the above issues, I cannot see that your product is functional enough to revies.
