I just downloaded this program because I got some video footage off of the internet of a lecture, and needed to record it to MP3 format because I didn't have the proper formatting tool for the video footage. I was able to quickly figure the program out, and got the results I wanted... a recording of quality equal to that on the video footage.
The major con to this program, is the way it asks you to make a new file in order to record. Most applications in general begin with a 'clean file' ready to be used and saved (like a blank page in a word processor). This program doesn't seem to do that. Furthermore, it would be much more convenient if it would just remember my specified settings, rather than having to enter them in every time. I've used more complex programs, and had little if any trouble in those programs finding the options tab and setting up my input/device and output settings to something different when I needed to change what format I was recording to, or where I was recording from. But many people probably use an application like this for one specific type of recording... for instance, some device/file to MP3 specifically... which means it's going to be an added hassle each and every time for those users to have to stop and configure it when they need to use it.
For that reason, I wasn't satisfied completely with the program, but for lack of better (free) alternative, I will probably have no choice but to go on using it. It would be quite nice with a little tweaking.
