From the screenshot I guessed before downloading the "Angel" that it would prove to be what it looked like: cute, neat, plain, without any silly ornaments, innocent, practical, effective, unselfish, simple, etc. etc. I have not used it much till now. But I hope I will be happy to keep it with me ...... and that it will prove to be a simple powerful angelic companion. More comments I will send later on.

I like the idea of an ultra-simple rtf text editor but too bad they left out the Help file! Also this free software generated a popup reminding me to buy the company's other products. I would rather pay and get rid of the popup. Most irritating, though, everything is measured in millimeters, even when you select US letter size, and I couldn't find any way to change this--no preferences option.

Unfortunately these little details made a practical work aid rather impractical.

I downloaded this in an attempt to read and edit a .docx file attached to an email. The descriptor on the internet (google search "docx editor") listed this as a capability of Angel Writer. I downloaded and installed it.

When I tried to open the file, nothing happened; there was no file extension .docx listed in the open dialog. I tried "save as" just to see if the .docx extension was an option, and again the same. I then uninstalled it.

I eventually solved the problem with something else.

Немного опробовал сей программный продукт.
Внешность удовлетворительная. Функций по минимуму хватает.
Отсутствует только регулировка обтекание картинок текстом.
Не удовлетворило меня его работа с картинками (другие редакторы потом не воспринимают вставленные картинки). И вообще даже текстовые редакторы неадекватно изображают файлы, созданные в Ангеле.
К примеру ширина таблиц вылезала за границы страницы. Фоновый цвет страницы остался таковым только в таблице.
Далее верхнее поле не соответствовала заявленным 20 мм, а было значительно меньше.
Дерзайте, создатели. Есть над чем работать.
Не совсем понятно зачем, правда. Но это уже вторая история.
Может быть он может быть заточен именно на русскую публику? С любовью наших стандартизаторов на всё своё, необычное?

If you fed up with wordpad, but useless to install MS Office for a nicely formatted pages, this Angel writer is a very-very good alternate to do your job.
I especially like to use to make help documentation, to make notes., write nice mails, and letters.

Later if Angel Writer will be available in only zipped portable package, then I'm sure I will add to my portable package.

If you don't need the full functionality of Microsoft Word and you would be satisfied by the RTF documents format the Angel Writer documents editor is the perfect choice.

Why do I think so? People very often create simple documents without any special formatting and of course with another MS Office applications integration. Simple letters, notes or documents without formatting pretensions. So why should they buy the large functional program if they could use something simpler? Probably everyone knows that Microsoft Windows is suited by the RTF documents editor known as MS Wordpad. Many people tried to use it and found it inconvenient. I did it as well.

Therefore Angel Writer could be a great replacement of the MS Wordpad. Let's learn it and we will ensure that these words are truth.

Angel Writer allows you to create or edit simple text, RTF (Rich Text Format) and HTM/HTML files.
What did I found useful for me personally.
Setting up the text or text background color, paragraph background color.
Different kinds of text alignment (especially justify).
Different kinds of lists (bullets, numbering).
Different kinds of line spacing.
Insertion of horizontal line, page break, special symbols, pictures, files, hypertext links, date and time.

The most useful feature is the work with tables. There is the individual menu like in the MS Office. Table creation, insertion/deletion of rows/columns, whole table, columns, rows or cells selection, cell content alignment, cell borders setting.

So this program is not the Microsoft Word but it's enough in many situations and it's free of charge.
