Had some dfonts from my mac that I needed to use on a PC. Nothing I tried worked very well for converting them, until I found CrossFont. Easy to use, quick results, and it worked great. I didn't explore all of its capabilities, but for what I needed, it was the best out there.

I'm really happy that this software allowed me to convert a Mac font to a PC font. We were otherwise at an impasse on the project - but now: problem solved...

Tricky one, on my laptop the application refuses to start.
On my desktop it starts and works like a charm. Only i didn't find a way to convert bunch of fonts without clicking individually each of them. Seems kind of bore, a normal shift-click or ctr-click select for multiple fonts to convert would rock.
Very good application none the less.

Having recently prurchased Adobe CS2, I was very frustrated to find that either installing my ttf fonts (typefaces) via windowsXP's font installer, or even using extensis suitcase, most of the typeface derivatives/variations did not show. I did have a disk of Mac Type1 fonts, but I couldn't use them either.
Doing a web search i came up with Crossfont; almost a last-ditch effort, but found it significantly better value than enything else. Sure, it's not so pretty as others, but it does what it does really well. Now I have a great working system with oodles of Type1 fonts (which i find work much better on pc's than OpenType fonts).
[Anything features to add? Sure. converting from Type1 Mac to PC apparently requires user feed-back. Yet i found that only very occasionally i needed to give any input (and that was with a full CD worth of fonts). CrossFont was right 99.9% of the time. Therefore I believe a "set-and-forget" batch process could be in order. "User beware", and all that sort of stuff, but I doubt that anythig could go wrong. And if it did, you could just redo those few fonts].
This is a great little utility, no doubt about that.
I also thoroughly recommend Qarchive's Transmac (essential for properly copying contents from Mac disks and cd/dvd's). Again, great value
